Laser Physiotherapists Visit the Moama Clinic of CLTA for Expert Laser Therapy Training

In September 2025, Clinical Laser Therapy Australia (CLTA) welcomed two international guests to its Moama clinic. Greek physiotherapist Mata Karagianni and ASA Laser’s Francesco Sahli travelled to the twin towns to deliver laser therapy training to the CLTA clinical team.

Three decades of laser experience

Mata Karagianni, from Greece, brings 30 years of experience as a laser physiotherapist. Her depth of knowledge in applying laser therapy to real patient conditions made the visit a valuable learning opportunity for the CLTA team. Francesco Sahli, an Italian laser therapist educator, works with ASA Laser and complemented her teaching with technical expertise in the equipment and how to use it well.

Hands-on training in Moama

The visit was a practical working session. Training ran over Friday 12 and Saturday 13 September, with the visitors working with the CLTA team, and other local practitioners, on the new machines. The sessions included live demonstrations, with Dr Matthew McLindon demonstrating the Hiro TT machine on Mata during the training.
twin towns home to australian first technology

Training of this kind helps clinicians refine their technique, choose appropriate settings and get the most from advanced laser technology. That means better care for patients.

Why it matters for patients

CLTA is committed to bringing world-class laser therapy to regional Australia. Dr McLindon uses laser therapy for soft tissue and sports injuries, inflammatory conditions, repetitive stress injuries and wound care. Learning directly from international educators keeps the clinical team’s skills current and in line with global best practice.

On the way to Brisbane

After their time in Moama, the visitors travelled to Brisbane for the Heal With Laser conference, where Dr McLindon also presented.
